Climate Change

CLIMATE CHANGE
Most scientists now agree that human-induced global climate change poses a serious threat to both society and the Earth's ecosystems. But what is climate change? How will it affect developing countries? And what can be done to reduce the threats it poses?
Gases including carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane and water vapour trap heat from the sun within the atmosphere. Acting like the panes of glass in a greenhouse, they ensure that temperatures close to the Earth's surface are much warmer than they would otherwise be. In this way, the greenhouse effect makes life as we know it possible.
But this system has recently come under heavy pressure. Since the Industrial Revolution, humankind has been extracting and burning fossil fuels at increasing rates, releasing significant amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. As concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased, so has the strength of the greenhouse effect.
Scientists around the world are using computer models to try to predict how global climate is likely to be affected by this enhanced greenhouse effect in the years ahead. An important part of their work is producing scenarios of what the future climate may look like, based on a combination of past and current observations, and predicted levels of future emissions.
Since the early 1980s, this research has led to the conclusion that current trends in climate change are likely to cause an increasing number of threats to the natural world and to human societies. Since 1988, governments have delegated the task of reaching a scientific consensus on climate change to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Its third and most recent assessment, published in 2001, suggests that "there is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities". The report also states that average global temperatures are projected to increase by 1.4 to 5.8 degrees Celsius over the next 100 years because of the enhanced greenhouse effect.

Due to this warming, glaciers and the polar ice caps are expected to melt, causing sea levels to rise by between nine and 88 centimetres in the coming century. The IPCC also expects significant changes to patterns of rainfall — including monsoons — and more extreme weather events.
These potential effects highlight the need for a coordinated and scientifically based international response.
The international response
International action to tackle climate change has been steadily increasing since the early 1990s, a reflection of warnings from the scientific community. In 1992, an agreement was reached at the UN Conference on Environment and Development, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the text of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
This agreement, which has so far been ratified by 188 countries, aims to reduce emissions to levels that "prevent dangerous interference with the climate system". It is not, however, a legally binding instrument. With concern about climate change growing throughout the 1990s, the text of an additional 'protocol', intended to serve as a legally binding instrument to help meet the convention's objective, was negotiated in Kyoto, Japan, in 1997.
The target of what has become known as the 'Kyoto Protocol' is that industrialised countries — called 'Annex I' countries — should reduce emissions of greenhouse gases to at least five per cent below their average 1990 levels by 2012. They can meet this target by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases directly or by creating carbon 'sinks' that absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere (for example by planting forests).
The protocol also includes three international mechanisms, called flexible mechanisms, which aim to make it cheaper to reach the Kyoto Protocol's targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in industrialised countries.
Two of these mechanisms are intended to promote investment either in developing countries (through the Clean Development Mechanism), or in countries undergoing the transition to a market economy (through Joint Implementation). The third mechanism, known as emission trading, allows one country to 'sell' parts of its emission quota to another, a move intended to maximise cost-efficiency in emission reduction strategies.
After seven years of difficult negotiations, the protocol entered into force on 16 February 2005, having been ratified by 141 countries. Together, the 141 nations account for 61.6 per cent of global carbon dioxide emissions. The agreement is thus now binding international law.
The protocol's 2012 target is seen as an initial step by many scientists and policy makers, and after 2012, a second commitment period would come into effect. The terms of 'post 2012', sometimes referred to as 'post Kyoto', are the subject of on-going negotiations. Contentious points include the roles of the United States, which has repeatedly refused to ratify the Kyoto Protocol, and of Brazil, China and India, three developing nations that are not bound to any reduction commitments but whose emissions compete with levels in developed nations.
The need to adapt to 'inevitable' climate change

Responses to global climate change cannot be limited to efforts of mitigation (reducing greenhouse gas emissions), as even the successful implementation of the most ambitious mitigation plan would not be sufficient to prevent continued global warming, at least not in the short term. We are already committed to some degree of climate change.
As a result, there has been growing recognition over the past decade that the severity of the likely impacts of climate change demands that we learn to adapt to them as well.
At the local level, adaptation is a process that takes place continuously in response to changes in the local environment. But in a climate change context, it can also refer to broader decisions, such as planting different crop varieties in drier years, building dams to protect communities from flooding, or protecting particularly vulnerable natural ecosystems that are a source of livelihoods.
Adaptation is already being discussed in policy circles, and is addressed in both the Kyoto Protocol and the Framework Convention. It has particular relevance to the challenge of achieving sustainable development, especially in developing countries as these are frequently the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The main challenge is to work out what can be done in practical terms to reduce this vulnerability in the South.
Climate change and development
By their nature, the problems created by climate change cut into the core of economic activities in fields such as transport, energy, public health, agriculture and forestry. In addition, policies linked to both reducing greenhouse gases and adapting to the impacts of climate change are closely linked to broader development issues.
The stakes are high. The risks posed both by extreme weather events and systemic changes to our reliance on fossil fuels are significant. For developing countries, the story is further complicated by a lack of financial, social and institutional resources needed to face the threat of climate change. Although the challenges faced by the South in coming to terms with the impacts of climate change are slowly being acknowledged in international policy circles, policies to address these challenges effectively have yet to be designed and implemented.
Central to this task is the need to encourage proactive choices by all those concerned about the impacts of climate change on the developing world. This dossier aims to help achieve this by offering a set of online resources that provide the knowledge base needed to address these problems.
It includes recent news and feature articles on issues relating to the science and politics of climate change, policy briefs analysing key issues and describing their importance, selected opinion articles from stakeholders in the climate change debate, and key documents covering the spectrum between climate change science and development needs.
By presenting this information in an accessible, focused yet comprehensive form, we hope that this dossier will enable policymakers, scientists, educators and others to make informed choices about climate change and the challenges it presents humankind.

THE EARTH IS HEATING UP!

Global warming is an increase in the average temperature of the Earth's surface. This catastrophic climate change is the result of emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from human activities including industrial processes, fossil fuel combustion, and changes in land use, such as deforestation.

The harmful effects of global warming on daily life are already showing up, so if we don't do anything to help the ecosystem, may be in a couple of decades, a lot of people won't have enough water, they will be flooded out of their homes (because of the sea level's increase). Also, there will be many tropical diseases.
What is happening now, is a fact that troubles all planet. So, we have to Take Action!
There are many things that we can do in our daily life that can help to make the planet a better place.

For example: Save Electricity. Also, we can save energy by sometimes taking the bus, riding a bike, or walking. Another important thing is to talk with our family and friends about climate change and let them know what we've learned. Planting trees is fun and a great way to reduce greenhouse gases, because trees absorb carbon dioxide, and greenhouse gas, from the air. Finally, we ca recycle cans, bottles, plastic bags, and newspapers. When we recycle, we send less trash to the landfill and we help save natural resources, like trees, oil, and elements such as aluminum.

The global warming from the atmosphere contamination it's harmful and it also exist a debate on the roots, most of the Scientifics recognize that the earth is heating up. The principal causes attribution on the high atmospheric concentration of gases. The other causes are on the effect of winter and the heat from the earth is trapped on the space that produces an elevation of atmosphere temperature. The contamination atmospheric it's one of the problems that extends with high speed the drafts of the air and contaminates all global corners. The mayor contamination come from the automobiles and central thermals that burns carbon and oils in order to generate energy for the use of industrial and domestic. The carbon anhydride and other harmful gasses that are freed to the atmosphere produces harmful effects on the atmosphere on the humans, animals and plants

The USA is the most affected by the global warming for have bigger quantity of factories.

global warming

This subject is too much important reflect if you love our planet our home.Every day People are contaminating without control the air, oceans, forests and cities grow fastly. The Principal source of contaminating is the intensive use of fossil fuels in the transport and industry, then sensitive increases of dioxide of carbon have taken place in the atmosphere provoking the mentioned global warming. All this aggressions had caused around the last fifty years principaly changes in temperature with sharp variations; sometimes its too cold and sometimes its too warm, presipitations appear too much or nothig in someplaces. Places located near to the beachs suffer floods, joinned come the damages to culturing , housings. Even loss of lives. Old people says it is unusual, before was diferent.Ecuador isnt out of this problem, just remember the last changes of temperature and presipitations. If you think that you could do is nothing, that will be something. So, save water, save electricity, save ferest, parkig your car and walk more. Certanly it came to help world keep some pure wheather.

global warming

THE GLOBAL WARMING IS CAUSED BY DIFERENTS GASES LIKE CARBON DIOXIDE AND TOXICS OF THE VEHICLES THAT ARE ACCUMULATED IN THE OZONE LAYER THAT CATCHES THE HEAT NOWADAYS CAUSING THE GLOBAL WARMING ALTHOUGH THIS LOOKING FOR NATURAL FORMS OF ENERGY THAT REEMPLAZEN TO THESE GASES .......
THE COUNTRY MORE EFECTED IS THE U.S.A. SINCE IT IS WHERE FINDS MOST OF INDUSTRIAL COMPANIES THAT IT EMITS GASES ....... FOR THIS REASON THERE ARE MELTING OF GLACIERS DROUGHTS THAT CAUSED THE COASTAL SHORTAGE OF THE WATER, FLOODS, THE FORESTS AND FARMS THERE ARE PLAGUES ETC….

ONE OF THE WAY THAT WE CAN CONTRIBUTE SO THAT OF THE GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT AT THE MOMENT FOR CHOOSING THE FLOODLIGHT OR REFRIGERATOR AS FAR AS POSSIBLE WE MUST CHOOSE THOSE THAT US PERMIT A GREATER SAVING OF ENERGY….

Would you like to visit China?

If you can visit some place around the world you should have to choose China because this country has friendly people, ancient civilzation and many places to visit like The Great Wall, Terra-Cotta Warriors & Horses and the Yangtze River, and also you can visit many important cities such as Beijing,Xian,Guilin,Shanghai and Hong Kong.
China, one of the four oldest civilizations in the world, has a written history of 4,000 years and boasts rich cultural relics and historical sites. It is the inventor of compass, paper-making, gunpowder and printing.
China is a land of cultural and geographic schisms. It's not that it has completely done away with its Maoist past - it's more that the yin of revolutionary zeal is being balanced by the yang of economic pragmatism. The government is a communist state and people here speak commonly Mandarin. The president is Hu Jintao.

The temperature in China in the winter is 5 to 18 degree centigrade lower than that in other countries on the same latitude in winter.
The working days are from Monday to Friday. Most people do not work on weekend. Official hours are from 8:00am to 17:00pm with one hour for lunch.

China has a lot of beautiful places and I think is a very interested know the culture, religion, people and history about this country.

Greece

Greece is located on south-east Europe. This country is consider the cradle of the western civilization. Greece's culture was the base of the helenística civilization. Though Greece was conquisted by Roma, Greece's culture modificated to the Roma's culture, because was a superior it.
Greece have many important cities, as Atenas and Tesalónica. Atenas is the capital of Greece. It is the first democratic citie and it have a lot of archaeological remains for example: Partenón, Acrópolis and the "Torre de los Vientos" .

Greece's habitants are free of to choose what religion likes to practices. Actuality, Greece is a democratic countrie and it is led by the conservative party. The Greece's flag represents the blue of his waters, Greece's himno is the "Imnos is tin Eleftherian" and their motto is "freedom or death".
The Greece’s continental includes regions such as Tracia, Macedonia, Epirus, Tesalia, Central Greece, and Peloponnesus which is a peninsula join to continent by the Isthmus of Corinth. The rest of this country is composed of islands like Eubea, Creta, Espóradas, Cíclicas, Dodecaneso, etc.

Greece has fame by its natural beauty. The land is mountainous and sheer, but has few natural resources. The climate of Greece is same at the others Mediterranean’s countries. In the falls lands the summers are harsh and the winters are rainy. The regions with mountains are very colds.

Greece is a rural country of small’s towns which are famous and old villages as Argos, Corinth and Sparta. Around of 98% of population is Greek, 1% is Muslim, and rest of people are Slovakian, Albanian and Armenian. The majority of people are orthodox.

This country is a interesting place by his history, his architecture, his culture and by his geographic network, so I would like to visit it some day, when I can.

New Activity

Thank you very much for your cohoperation!!

The next activity is to post an article about one country in the world....

The only rule is that you have to choose different countries and you cannot repeat one of your classmates ones.

Write anything you want, but it would be better to post about a country you have visited and you liked a lot; say why you liked, wich things do you recomend to do if we go there, etc. The other option will be to write about a country you would like to visit and why you would like to go there.

Start by describing the country, you can give some geographical and historical facts. Then explain why you chose this country, why it is special for you, and finally, tell us what you did there or what would you like to do there (visit museums, go to the beach, go to the discotec, etc).

Thank you again.

I tell us about one of the most loved places for me. In the last vacation I visited one of the most beatiful places that I had been ever. It call Nanegalito; it`s in the north west of the Pichincha province. Here we have the major variety of births in the world in only one place.

White-throated tyrannulet

The birds here has a lot but day to day they died a lot. Since the world is warming, they are dying a lot, the high temperatures explot the eggs in less time, that cause the die of the babyes.
The insects that they eat, die for the temperature of the heart, it affect at the ants, the butterflyes cant reproduce a lot because they havent pollen because the flowers die very rapidly for the sun and the heavy wind.
In the morning the hummyningbirds (the one of the most important birds of Nanegalito)haven`t hunny and ten at a time should died every day but the people give them water with sugar to eat. The hot nectar affect the digestion of the birds, and they died with suffering and ache.

died hummyningbird

Finally the most popular bird of Nanegalito called Giant Antpitta will be can vanish off the earth, because it haven`t food and it`s enviroment thats destruyed and one of the most exotic birds of Ecuator can dessapear.

María the unique Antpitta in the world that eat in the hand of it`s owner.

Now time know what the global warming is dangerous for our world and it has happened for the climate change during years ago. The phnomenon naturals is dangerous for the people live in this plane.

they have a great ambition for money so they have created factories of different products
Then this problem is very important, because if our planet continue with higher temperatures, the heating effects will be strong and could melting of snow and ice, rising global mean sea level,
A big problem about overheat is that the polar ice caps melt, the produces the sea level rises and some places of the coast are flodding.

big increase in the earth’s temperature during the last 30 years has been one of the most important topics around the world.

We can teach to the next generation about the importance to keep our planet because is the only one that we have.

"HAVE US A PLANET EARTH AND WE SHOULD SAVE IT"

Problably in this moment isn´t important find out culprit for The Problem than had Planet Earth if not we should know wich are the causes and what can do for avoid Global Warming.
The first cause is greenhouse effect which results from gases emitted as a result of human activities.

Therefore, water has multiple effects on infrared radiation, through its vapor phase and through its condensed phases. CO2 production from increased industrial activity (fossil fuel burning) and other human activities such as cement production and tropical deforestation has increased the CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere.

It`s extract of the causes, Now we should take measuring urgent for don`t continue to do damage our planet.

Something than we can do in our home are:

  • Replace a regular incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb.
  • Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditioner.
  • Use less hot water.
  • Use a clothesline instead of a dryer whenever possible.
  • Unplug electronics from the wall when you’re not using them.
  • Be sure you’re recycling at home.
  • Plant a tree.

There are many many forms from help. But the most important is than we should have a general conscience. "HAVE US A PLANET EARTH AND WE SHOULD SAVE IT"

IS THE GLOBAL WARMING DANGEROUS?

Now people know what the global warming is dangerous for our world and it has happened for the climate change during years ago. This change went to cause of human activities that began with the industrial revolution and of the natural factors such as: changes in the sun’s intensity, changes in ocean circulation, volcanic eruption, etc.
Then this problem is very important, because if our planet continue with higher temperatures, the heating effects will be strong and could melting of snow and ice, rising global mean sea level, ocean salinity, heavy precipitation, etc
Also, people know that the climate change will affect our health because of periods of heat and cold, storms, and climate-sensitive diseases.
Finally, in our hands is the world, therefore you can help when you reduce, reuse and recycle solid waste, use water efficiently, save energy, between other things.

Global Warming

Have you probably observed that when the directly low car is left the sunbeams in a sunny day, the interior of the car warms a lot but that the external air and is the question for that the automobile acts like a trap of heat?
This is due to that the glass, in the grosores commonly used transmits, more than 90% of the radiation in the visible range. This causes an increase in the temperature as a result of the energy created in the car. The effects of this heating are known as effect hothouse.

The effect hothouse is also manifested, to more scale on the Earth. The surface of the Earth that warms during the day as a result of the absorption of the solar energy, cools down at nights irradiating you leave its energy toward the deep space as infrared radiation. The dioxide of carbon, the vapor of water and appearances of some other gases like methane and nitrogen oxides act like a blanket and they conserve tibia to the Earth at night for the blockade of the heat that is irradiated from the Earth. For it is that they are called "hothouse gases". However the dioxide of carbon is different, because the human activities contribute a difference in the concentration of this in the atmosphere.

The effect hothouse allows the life since on the Earth preserve the lukewarm Earth around the 30ºC hotter. However excessive quantities of these gases harm the delicate balance catching too much energy, what originates an increase in the temperature of the Earth and the climate change in some towns. These undesirable consequences of the effect hothouse are known as the global heating.

A great concern
According to the different scientific studies, supported by the UN, it is calculated that in the year 2100, the half temperature of the Earth will be between 1,5 and 6 grades more than that of 1980. And it is that the temperatures are rising to global scale, and the 15 hotter years since one has registration (1867) they have happened from 1980.

This is the great concern of the scientists, since the polar helmets melt. Also, the heat of the sun, when it arrives to the poles, it is reflected again toward the space. And, when melting the polar caps, minor is the quantity of heat that is reflected, that he makes that the earth warms even more. With this, more water of the oceans will evaporate, and in other sides there will be torrential rains, floods, winds huracanados, droughts, waves of heat and icy... among other natural disasters, famines and epidemics could also take place, those that would be frequent in all the countries. They could also melt floes, to disappear flora and fauna, to become desérticas the cultivation lands, to be ruined reefs and to be flooded the islands of the Caribbean.

The worst thing of everything is that ourselves is those that we are "collaborating" with the global heating of our habitat when using fossil fuels (coal, petroleum and their derived as paraffin, liquefied gas and benzine), to allow the industrial contamination, among other, and the destruction of forests and humid lands.

global warming

Our planet is very beautiful. but today it has been changes in its climate, wich it is caused for people. they have a great ambition for money so they have created factories of different products. this factories are exulting dangerous gases to the atmosphere. Scientists called this greenhouse effect and they affirm that the humanity future is under risk.
how does this affect us?
Global warming produces barren on earth effecting our field activities and soon the poles will melt and this will make the sea level come up.

There are big floods all ever the world, days are oing heater and we do not do anything about that. so, let´s take care of the more beautiful thig we have in the world life.

So, let´s take care of our home planet, and of course let`s take care of water, because it is our main source of life.

Global Warming

Global warming is often associated with the average increase in the temperature of the atmosphere near the earth’s surface. The use of our natural resources without any care for the future is often associated with the increasing level of planet’s gases such as carbon monoxide. For over the past years, the burning of fossil fuels, such as coal and oil, and deforestation has caused the concentration of heat-trapping planet gases to increase significantly in our atmosphere. These gases prevent heat from escaping to space, somewhat like the glass panels of a planet. These gases are very important in maintaining life as we know it, but as the concentrations of these gases continue to increase in the atmosphere, the earth’s temperature is starting to rise as well. Other aspects of the climate are also changing such as rainfall patterns, snow and ice cover, and sea level. Human kind knows now that global warming is a reality and that the future is our responsibility, we cannot fix it but we can improve it

Global Warming

A big increase in the earth’s temperature during the last 30 years has been one of the most important topics around the world.
Global warming is a natural event, it is supposed earth’s temperature most show important increases for tens of thousands of years, but since 1850 (industrial revolution) there has been a mean rise in global temperature of approximately 1°C.
The use of fossil fuels leading to a buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Those gases, which the most important is carbon dioxide, accumulate then reduce the escape of the earth’s infrared radiation into space, so then earth’s temperature increases faster than past decades.
Also the use of chlorofluorocarbons, has caused the destruction of the ozone layer, that serves to shield the earth from the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
The potential consequences are so great, that’s why already in 19th century appears an environmental movement, of which the author Henry David Thoreau was leader.
Since then some people around the world, have thought about a way to minimize risks.
The biggest effort to reduce gas emissions happened in 1997. Delegates from the most industrialized countries in the world, especially those that are part of G7, resolved to limit emissions of gases, it was known as the Kyoto protocol.
USA, which is the most important emitter of greenhouse gases, hasn’t reduced it like it was resolved and even it is the biggest emitter in the world.
If it continues like this, we’d have to look for another place to live.

THe global warming.

The global warming is a world's problem. The Earth is overheat. It produces dramatic climate changes and it causes harm to human health, natural disasters, rivers pollution, damage in the forest, etc....

The temperature rises because fossils fuel and others industrial process make that the atmosphere store hothouse gases caused by chemicals used in cars, aerosols, plastics, some fertilizers, etc....and the CO2 impedes that ultraviolet rays escape to the space. But this element is not the only one that affects our planet. Certainly the human activities are the principal factor of this catastrophe. Also, the technology advance during the last century has increased this problem, because today oil is the main source of energy for human activities. So it's most necesary to use.

A big problem about overheat is that the polar ice caps melt. It produces the sea level rises and some places of the coast are flodding.

Earth is our home. We don't have to destroy it. So, we have to take careful and keep our enviroment safe.
Help to save the planet!!!!

The global warming

The global warming is the increase of the planet’s temperature. It is caused for the accumulation of carbon dioxide and another contaminates that are in the air. This contaminates form a cap that catches the sunbeams. The principal sources of the carbon dioxide are: energy generators factories and the cars. Actually, there are forms to allow that the cars work cleanly, and too there are technologies to permit to generate electricity without cause contamination. However, these big companies don’t want to help to reduce these emissions, because this represents a lot of money for them.

The main effects of the global warming are: thaw in the poles, increase of the sea’s water level (it will produce floods in the continent’s coast), periods of unusually warm weather, drastic changes in the ecosystems and died of a lot of species, and over all this problem in some years will destroy the world and everything in it.

Nowadays, the global warming is the biggest problem that the humanity has to confront, and it isn’t a problem only of the development countries, it’s our problem too, and we should try to be part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. We can teach to the next generation about the importance to keep our planet because is the only one that we have.

Definition
Cavities are holes that damage the structure of teeth.
Causes, incidence, and risk factors
Tooth decay is one of the most common of all disorders, second only to the common cold. It usually occurs in children and young adults but can affect any person. It is the most important cause of tooth loss in younger people.
Bacteria are normally present in the mouth. The bacteria convert all foods -- especially sugar and starch -- into acids. Bacteria, acid, food debris, and saliva combine in the mouth to form a sticky substance called plaque that adheres to the teeth. It is most prominent on the back molars, just above the gum line on all teeth, and at the edges of fillings. Plaque that is not removed from the teeth mineralizes into tartar. Plaque and tartar irritate the gums, resulting in gingivitis and ultimately periodontitis.

The parties and alcohol's fun.

Some people and i'm including to think the fun always drink alcohol, but do you think?
the alcohol let you to be free when you maybe to say a special person what do you feel? but it isn't true and you'll get some problems and forget some friends

Habitats and cultures everywhere react to climate's rapid changes

GLOBAL WARMING (things you can do..)
Al the people in the world can feel that the Earth climate is hottest than some years ago. It causes terribles events, for example, we can see less ice on the big mountains and there are many cyclones along the word. It isn`t normal but we need to do something before it get worst.

Actions we should do.....since now:

1. Learn about it.
2. Reduce your driving: one gallon of gas burned creates 20 pounds of CO2. Fuel up on ethanol and biodiesel.
3. Replace light bulbs with low-voltage compact fluorescents. Buy renewable energy, like wind and solar.
4. Look for products made from recycled materials, created with renewable energy, and which help you save money and reduce pollution.
5. Use your vote and influence to elect responsive leaders,
6. Build new homes and buildings for efficiency and solar power.
7. Support sustainable farming and forestry, including new crops to make into ethanol and other biofuels.
8. At all government levels, develop an efficient energy policy, moving away from fossil fuels.
9. ....and start doing these things today, please it`s an urgent thing that sould care us..

I think, global warming is every day causing more damages to the earth. Nowadays many people have more conscience about different ways that help to take care the planet. Every time, every days there are messages in the tv, radio and magazines...

Desert Island

Have you ever thought that if you would be on a remote island. You don't have any boat and you know that you'll be there a long time, this island has limitated water and food, what would you do? maybe you'll try to preservate those limitated food and water, will respect that island, because you don't have a place to run?...

So think about this, think in our planet, if Earth just ran out of water and food, where will we go?,
our planet is like that diminute and remote island, some natural researches are destroyed by the men everyday, China is getting rich but burning thousands of tonnes everyday, many towns of that country are evacuated because the air is not too clean by human beings, trees, animals, etc.

Somebody said: "If the antz dissapear from the Earth maybe our planet will dissapear too because they keep the environment clean, but if the man dissapear from the Earth maybe this have a second chance to live, because we don't respect our big home"

What are you doing to give to the Earth a Second Chance?

The Earth Gets Hot

Millions years ago quite little live beings changed the climate in a radical way they produced oxigen, and the UV rays collided against these particles, thus was made ozono, since that no live being has made the same or something like that, until now, we are changing the weather.

Humans always care for the immediate problems. But global warming, is not one of those, this is a process whose effect is slow, such that usually nobody can notice it, some people are trying to alert us, but pollution is caused by factories located in rich countries, those countries are the United States, China, Russia, and some in Europe whose economies depend in those factories. So these countries can not neither eliminate industries nor try to develop more efficient factories that would be too much expensive.
Nobody is completely sure about it but some people believe that radio signals can cause cancer, currently nobody cares of this except Switzerland. They replaced wires, to avoid this, and they had to spend about $3 billion dolars. Switzerland is a very rich country and can do things like this, but some countries like China are a bit more selfish and will not replace anything, besides their industries are growing and it will make necessary to pollute even more.
Everyone doesn’t get what they give, the countries affected by pollution are mostly poor but
they don’t pollute much. Because of that climatic changes will go on, countries that produce them are not interested on avoiding it, and the countries affected cannot stop it, they aren’t powerful enough.

Hi, Nata:
how are you in this class? did you understand something or nothing?

ThE BiG IcE CrEaM....

PlEaSe OpEn YoUr EyEs! Is OuR bIg IcE cReAm...

Today all the people and important cientifics are talking about the global warming. But a many of them doesn't be really interested, because this problem is not a play....

Our weather is changing day a day, all the world can feel it; also us, if I think in the weather here in Cuenca some years ago is certainly very different than today, but it is not only the problem here in our cities. Do you think if here in Ecuador we have two or three more grades, how is it in the polos? how influence it there?, it is really warming four or five grades more! Our polos are melting each hour... The water level is increasing in our oceans but how many people think in the animals wich live in those places?... Please, think in the polar bears, they didn't do anything to us but you do something for they?... I don't know, but I hope that same like me, you react in front at this big problem the MeLtInG oF oUr BiG IcE cReAm!

We can save they... we can do a lot of things like:
  1. We just have to occupy less energy, you can think in energy produced by the sun is simple in our houses. Also you can buy products made from the recycled materials.
  2. Reduce the consume of CO2 (please if you don't have to drive your car don't do it, one gallon of gas burned, create more than 20 pounds of CO2.)
  3. Learn about it, and the most important, do it today, it's urgent it's NOT a play, it can save us.

the global warming

the global warming has been destroying our planet since 20 or 30 years ago, when the human being started destroying trees and green spaces, the trees are very important for the planet, they give us oxigen, and keep the climate normal in all the regions in the planet.
I think that the principal reason for this problem are the insufficient green areas. obviously, the damage is colateral, I mean, the ice in the poles are melting, and the level of the water is increasing, it causes floods in the seaside, and very poor people from those places, lose their houses and possessions.

But all de things which is destroy our world, give us a job, and better style of life, so the humanity has the choise, continue living with a great life (in the present), using natural resources and avoid our child to have a healthy life, or start taking care our planet, and let all the next generations more years.... I think that these days, we have a selfish idea about this sittuation.

Global Warming is a serious Problem!!!!

The global warming is one of the most serious challenges facing is today, because the all climatic changes that we are living now are a clear consequence of the all things that the man has come making to now, as the incessant contamination who is responsible of an or another form, as well as the indiscriminate pruning gives trees, the forest fires, the hunt gives animal and other factors that they have contribuite to alter our ecosystem without having conscience some enter gives the way in which went to affect the evolution directly to our planet and the lifestyle gives all their habitants.

Now to protect the health and economic well-beingof current and futuregenertations, we must reduce our emissions of hape-traping gases by usig the technology, know-howand practical solutions already at our disposal.

The Global Warming

THE GLOBAL WARMING.....¡¡¡¡
Is a serious problem or a simple problem...?
The earth is the most important factor to all the humanity because each person has to live it. All the people that live in the earth have to protect it. We have to reduce the emissions of gases in the factories in the automovils, and we try to stop the cut of the trees.
The global warming is an enorm problem that it changes the temperatures in the earth for tha use of combustibles fossils and to others industrials processes that go out to the increases of gasses...

THE EARTH IS A BIG PROBLEM TO LIVE.

Message: Only we are the responsibles of our environment and we have to care it forever....¡¡

The Earth is dying

In these days, The Global Warming is a commmon phrase but nobody understand the real meaning of this.

A lot of disasters in the world are caused by the Global Warming such as thypoons, thunderstorms, hurricanes, floods, they destroy the ecosystem and cause severe damage to property.

Animals and plants around the world are in danger of extinction for of the increase of the temperature.

This is the principal reason for this especie's death. Also people is using aerosols, plastics and all of them are destroying our environment.

For these reasons, our planet is starting to become too hot for life.

Many countries like EEUU, China have the biggest industries and they cause pollution and toxic gases like CO2 wich destroy the ozone layer.

Everybody should try to protect nature in many ways for example we shouldn't use aerosols that emit CO2 gases.

I also think we should we less stationery and plastic bags. And I think allcountries should sign the "Kyoto According" just to protect our home planet.

global warming

Now-a-days the global warming is a clishé, everybody talks about it, some of them don´t believe that it is real, but that the world is changing and it´s getting warmer because it is suppoussed to be like that.
Personally i do believe in the world warming because for me it´s hard to understand why is it getting so hot everywhere, why are the icebergs melting?, or why everyday more and more animals are dying.

Well the reasons why is the earth warming up is becuase a lot of industries in order to create things for us to buy they also create huge amounts of carbon dioxyde and it causes that the ozone cape destroys also because of the pollution of the cars the same thing happens.

The scientists say that if people don´t try to stop the production of carbon dioxyde the temperature will increase from 3 to 9 farenheit degrees and it will cause that the sea level goes up so the coastal territories will be overflowd.
Also we will have extreme changes in temperature for example some day it can be really hot but the same day in the night or the next day it could be freezing cold, if that happens a lot of people will get sick and in some places where people aren´t used to those kind of weather changes they won´t have the technology for cooling down or warming up the temperature in their houses or work they could die.
Because of the hot weather there will be more chance for the illness to spread around and to turn into a pandemia.

The most important thing about the prevention of the World warming is not to make people to be afraid, but to meke them realice that the world that god created for us is BEAUTIFUL and if we had the chance to live in there we should not destroy in order to give our children or future generations the chance to live in a incredible place. Even if we think that whatever we do can be nothing it is better if each one of us try to stop the world warming instead of wait until others start the change.
