Egypt

When we think about Egypt, camels, pyramids, and mummies often come to mind! We think of antiquities, but Egypt offers much more. Certainly it is a prime location to see the great heritage from the ancient world, including Pyramids and wonderful temples, but it is also part of the Holy Land, and tours to Christian and other religious monuments are popular.

I think one of the most interesting things that the ancient Egyptian culture used to do is the process mummification. They buried their dead in small pits in the desert. The heat and dryness of the sand dehydrated the bodies quickly, creating lifelike and natural 'mummies'.

Later, the ancient Egyptians began burying their dead in coffins to protect them from wild animals in the desert. However, they realised that bodies placed in coffins decayed when they were not exposed to the hot, dry sand of the desert
Over many centuries, the ancient Egyptians developed a method of preserving bodies so they would remain lifelike. The process included embalming the bodies and wrapping them in strips of linen. Today we call this process mummification.

Brazil, officially the Federative Republic of Brazil (Portuguese: Brasil or República Federativa do Brasil, is the largest and most populous country in South America; and the fifth largest in the world in both area and population. Spanning a vast area between central South America and the Atlantic Ocean, it is the easternmost country of the Americas and borders every other South American country except Ecuador and Chile (viz. Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and the French department of French Guiana).
Brazil was colonized by Portugal and it is the only Portuguese-speaking country in the Americas. It is a multiracial country with a population composed of European, Amerindian, African and Asian elements, more often mixed in the same individual than separated into different communities. It has the largest Roman Catholic population in the world.

When I was in Brazil, I visited many places but the most beutifull place for me was Rio de Janeiro the people is good and the beaches are beutifull, but also is too expensive...
The food in Brazil is very well, the tipics plat is Fejoada and Churrascos, there are many places to visit, I got a lot of friends in Sao Paulo and also studied, is too hard live alone in a city too big but I liked....
Someday I want back to brazil...

France, country to visit

France is known around the world as a diverse country in its people, architectures and landscapes. About 56% of the French population claim to have foreign background [1] , which makes France one of the most diverse countries in Europe. Old and more recent immigrants came to France from the five continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and the Americas). China and the United Kingdom contributed most of its immigrants in 2005. France is also home of the highest point in Europe (Mont-Blanc 4,810 m; 15,780 ft) and one of the lowest points in Europe, Delta du Rhone, (-5 m; -15 ft). France is seventeen-times smaller than Brazil and half the size of Ontario, which means that one hour by plane or eight hours by car are enough to cross the whole country from one extremity to the other. Despite its size, France's landscapes are extremely varied from one region to another, ranging from Paris and its suburbs to high alpine territory to oceanfront resort towns.
On the one hand, France is highly densified with old architecture such as the city of Paris or the Centre of Troyes. The French Family Code is 200 years old and has been written under Napoleon. On the other hand, France is a highly developed country with an extensive highway network (for example: France is slightly bigger than California but its highway network is more than twice as long), 32,000 kilometres (20,000 mi) of [[railways (SNCF), along with modern ski resorts and gigantic malls. France is also the country with the fastest average internet connection speed (ADSL and more recently optical fibre in Paris), and in 2004, for the 3rd time in a row, the French healthcare system has been ranked number one in the world by the World Health Organisation.

MEXICO

I'd like to visit Mexico.

The United Mexican States, or simply Mexic, is a country located in North America, bounded on the north by the United States; on the south and west by the North Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico. The United Mexican States comprise a constitutional republican federation of thirty-one states and a federal district, Mexico City, one of the most populous cities on Earth.
Covering almost 2 million
square kilometers, Mexico is the 5th largest country in the Americas by total area and 14th largest in the world. With a population of about 108 million, it is the 11th most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world.

HISTORY OF MEXICO

For almost three thousand years,
Mesoamerica was the site of several advanced Amerindian civilizations such as the Olmec, the Maya and the Aztecs. In 1519, the native civilizations of what now is known as Mexico were invaded by Spain; this was one of the most important conquest campaigns in America. Two years later in 1521, the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan was conquered by an alliance between Spanish and Tlaxcaltecs, the main enemies of the Aztecs, setting up a three-century colonial rule in Mexico. The viceroyalty of New Spain became the first and largest provider of resources for the Spanish Empire, and the most populated of all Spanish colonies.
On
September 16, 1810, independence from Spain was declared by Miguel Hidalgo in the small town of Dolores. Guadalupe Victoria was its first president. The General Antonio López de Santa Anna was a strong influence in Mexican politics, a centralist and a two-time dictator. In 1836, he approved the Siete Leyes, a radical amendment to the constitution that institutionalized the centralized form of government, after which Texas declared independence from Mexico, obtained in 1836. The annexation of Texas by the United States created a border dispute that would cause the Mexican-American War. Santa Anna played a big role in trying to muster Mexican forces but this war resulted in the resolute defeat of Mexico and as a result of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848), Mexico lost one third of its surface area to the United States.

POPULAR MUSIC
The vast array of popular music gender in Mexico shows the great diversity of its culture. Endogenous music includes mariachi, banda, duranguense, norteño, ranchera and corridos. Contemporary music includes Mexican rock, represented by Maná, El Tri, Molotov and Jaguares, heavy metal, rap, pop (like the group RBD), punk, reggaeton, and alternative music. Mexican singers are famous in all Latin America and Spain.

These are some places wich I'd like to visit: Holiday resorts, Archaelogical sites, Churches, etc

ACAPULCO

For most of a century, exotic and historic Acapulco has been a popular resort for tourists taking long holiday weekends and cruises from the United States, the Mexican interior and countries in South America. Eventually, it began competing directly with the east-coast (Cancun) as a super-tourist destination. In the past three decades, air fares have become increasingly affordable as international airlines added flights and infrastructure to support the increasing air travel. The two beach resorts are essentially located on opposite coasts oriented due East and West from the other at essentially the same latitude . The city has had its star-spangled times, prompting none other than
Frank Sinatra to give the place a mention in his all time classic "Come Fly With Me".

The Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan
Knowledge of the huge ruins of Teotihuacán was never lost. After the fall of the city, various squatters lived on the site. During Aztec times, the city was place of pilgrimage and identified with the myth of Tollan, the place where the sun was created. Teotihuacán astonished the Spanish conquistadores during the Contact era. Today Teotihuacán is one of the most noted archaeological attractions in Mexico.

The Pyramid of the Sun was restored to celebrate the centennial of Mexican Independence in 1910. Major programs of excavation and restoration were carried out in 1960-65 and 1980-82. Recent projects at the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent have greatly expanded evidence of cultural practices. Teotihuacán features museums and reconstructed structures.

OLD BASILIC OF GUADALUPE

Officially known as the "Templo Expiatorio a Cristo Rey", the construction of the old basilica began in 1531 and was not finished until 1709. It is characterized by its doric interior and marble statues of Juan Diego and Fray Juan de Zumárraga. The church was granted basilica status by Pope The apron of Juan Diego was housed in this church from 1709 to 1974. In 1921 a bomb planted in a flower vase near the altar by a Freemasonic anticlerical activist exploded causing great damage to the interior of the building. The apron survived the incident largely undamaged.
The old basilica was sinking as a result of the weakness of the ground, as the city was built on a former lake. As a consequence a new, more spacious, basilica was built. The old one was closed for many years and repairs have recently finished. It is now again open to the public and perpetual adoration is held there.

BELGIUM A SMALL COUNTRY

In the summer of 2005 some friends and I had the opportunity to made a travel like bargin tourist. We went to Europe for more or less two months. I think that is one of the most important things that I could did in my live. But if I had the opportunity to back there, I want to stay more time in Belgium, I stayed in love with BRUSSELS and BRUGES.
But first I want to tell you some of important things that you have to know for visit this small country... Belgium.

Belgium is
a country in the northwest of Europe bordered by the Netherlands, Germany, France and Luxembourg.
For me is very interesting that in this small country the lenguage is divided, they speak two languages: more or less 50% of the population speak Dutch this language is refer to Flemish and they also speak Englis, and the other 50% speak French. It is because the people how speak dutch and english is more near to Netherlands and Germany and in the South of the Country is more near to France.

Nowadays, in Belgium has a constitutional popular Monarchy and Parliamentary democracy.

T O U R I S M

Tourism in Belgium is one smaller industries; it is because a lot of people think that this country is very small and they can only stay there just for pass not like a tourist destination.
But a lot of people didn't know about some important and interesting things like: the "belgium beer" Belgium produces over 500 varieties of beer (white, green, red or black), although there are hundreds of beer cafés in Belgium, among the most famous are "Beer Circus," "L'atelier," "Moeder Lambic," and "Delirium Café" in Brussels "De Garre" and "t Brugs Beertje" in Bruges, etc.
The Belgium chocolate is very famous in Europe like Neuhaus, Callebaut and Godiva and finally are very beatifull their handycrafts.
How can you see there are a lot or important things to do or to visit if you are in Belgium but when I was there I feel interesting... in special two cities:

B r u s s e l s
All of us Know that Brussels is the capital of Belgium. This city has a lot of Mediaeval, Gothic and certainly Moderm architecture like the Grand Place, is an old market square surrounded by buildings from 16th - 18th centuries and The Royal Palace its pubs, gallerias with expensive boutiques. Brussels is well-known for their fine art and architecture.

B r u g e s
Is a small ci
ty that is surrounded by channels, for me is one of the most beatifull cities in the World. I'm an architect and I can told you that this city is one of best conservated in Europe, and it is because all their habitants and the municipality compromises with the world and with the historic city of Bruges to protect it, considered nowadays one of the most beautiful in Europe for this reasons Bruges is a city on the list of World Heritage.

Finally I can told you that if one day you are in Europe don't forget to visit BELGIUM.

Who made that?

Global warmingWe have known than through the pass of the time, our planet has been inhabited for a big variety of species. Each one of them with their own characteristics than done them similar and different, where the existence of someone extinguished to others, where the biggest has dominated the smallest, but not always the biggest has survived, but all that like a normal cycle, where although the biggest has destroyed at the smallest, everybody has conserved the background, place, or house if we want; for the next generations and species than they would arrive after they.Maybe we could say a savagery expressed for the power where the most powerful survives. This talking just a little about the maybe “Savage species”, until arrived the time where the human began to take a protagonist list in the existence of the planet. The human began to evolve, to “get better”, to become “intelligent” to create “inventions”, “discoveries”, etc, this began to take the control.Together at the human control, has come growing up “necessities” to satisfy, that for the “comfort and the good life”, trying each time that things will be easier, but together this facilities and good life; has worried the human for the place where he/she lives and what he / she will leave for the next species than come after they? When nowadays this human been don´t worries to satisfy necessities, and those has changed from necessities to vanities. Then we think if since the human dominates the world do we really belong to one specie capable to create inventions or are specie that invents destruction? if we are a rational specie that dominated to the savages or we are savages dominated for our own irrationality? The documents about Global Warming that I read are very important, lots of them with their causes, consequences, several important treaties, etc. But all point to one begins and probably the same end. The men than have given importance to the virtual at the nonexistent, at the thing that doesn´t feed but condition our feeding and get sick us.Then since a lot of time ago than doesn´t stop of rain over wet.Simply from a lot of time ago we knew than we were self-destroying and of anything it serves if we continue loving the thing that destroys us “The ambition for the money”.

PortugaL

PORTUGAL(A mediterrean place......)

It`s a bueatiful country and one of the warmest European countries. The climate is oceanic in the north and mediterrean in the south. Spring and summer are very sunny, so if you like this weather, Portugal is a nice place to visit.

I`d like to go to the islands of the Azores and Madeira who are located in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It has had volcanic activity since many years ago.

People are friedly I think, their lenguage is portuguese. They are Roman Catholic. The young people listen to pop and other types of modern music.Portugal has music festivals; the best is Rock in Rio Lisboa in Lisbon, designed more to an urban audience. This festival is very known; if I could go there, I am sure I`ll be there enjoying whit my favorites rock bands.

Portuguese food is diverse. Portuguese wines have been very wanted since the times of the Roman Empire. Today the country is known by wine lovers and its wines have won international prizes.

If you are in the centre of Portugal in July or August, you don't have to miss the "Festas da Ria" in Aveiro, this festival is very animated.

I love staying on the beach. So one place I`d like to visit is Praia de Amado because you can learn and practice surf there. This beach is considered to be one of the best Portuguese surfing beaches.
As I`m an Architect, I would like to visit famous buildings because the first time I listened about Portugal was in my classes. Some of my friends have told me about this beatiful country, the places, the parties, the weather, etc. because they went there 2 years ago and came back fascinated with this place.

Switzerland

I never went to Switzerland before, but I really would like to visit this country for many reasons.

First, its geography. Switzerland have a very nice landscape. I like the swiss alps very much. Swiss mountains are famous for climbing, skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking and other recreational activities. I read that many mountain areas are developed. There are trains, cog railways, aerial cable cars and other means of transportation. The swiss architecture are very nice too, specially in the farms.

Other reason why i want to visit Switzerland is because I want to know the culture of the people and their organization. I admire how this little country have a strong economy, (the best banks in the world are there) and how every products made there are famous for their quality. I think, swiss people have an incredible discipline and they want everythings they do, have to be the best. That is the principal reason for I love this country.

Finally, i would like go there and look every swiss products that are famous in the world, like watches, jacknifes, weapons, clothes in general and specially, eat a lot of swiss chocolate.

Iceland

Iceland maybe some people believe this country isn't interesting place for you'd visit. but i think that Iceland is the best place i'll visit before i died.

Iceland is in the northwest of Europe and very near to Greoland, yes i know that the sun appered a few day of the year and it's near to North Poland and in the sumer dark apper very late.

Some Activities you can to made theyare:

Fig: 1.- The Northern LightsThe Northern Lights will take your breath away.

Fig2: Whale watchingWhale watching is a major attraction when visiting Reykjavík, Snæfellsnes, Húsavík and other locations.

Fig3: HallgrímskirkjaTowering Hallgrímskirkja, not only a church but an edifice offering panoramic views from its top.

Fig 4: Walking tours on glaciersWalking tours on glaciers are readily available, especially from Höfn at Hornafjörður.

Discoveries the Entire YearIceland is not only closer than you think, but far different than you ever imagined. Where else can you witness such marvels of Mother Nature as a tremendous icecap and several glaciers, spouting geysers and steaming solfataras, volcanoes (hopefully dormant), raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls, a multitude of birds, cavorting whales just offshore and many other surprises. Summers are surprisingly warm and winters not as cold as you might expect. Regardless of when you visit, be assured that the warmth shown by Icelanders, their desire to share their culture and the efforts made to make your stay as pleasant as possible will, like the spectacular landscape, never be forgotten. Looking for a holiday or vacation in Europe? - Visit Iceland

The scientific community has reached a strong consensus regarding the science of global climate change. The world is undoubtedly warming. This warming is largely the result of emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from human activities including industrial processes, fossil fuel combustion, and changes in land use, such as deforestation. Continuation of historical trends of greenhouse gas emissions will result in additional warming over the 21st century, with current projections of a global increase of 2.5ºF to 10.4ºF by 2100, with warming in the U.S. expected to be even higher. This warming will have real consequences for the United States and the world, for with that warming will also come additional sea-level rise that will gradually inundate coastal areas, changes in precipitation patterns, increased risk of droughts and floods, threats to biodiversity, and a number of potential challenges for public health.Addressing climate change is no simple task. To protect ourselves, our economy, and our land from the adverse effects of climate change, we must ultimately dramatically reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. To achieve this goal we must fundamentally transform the way we power our global economy, shifting away from a century’s legacy of unrestrained fossil fuel use and its associated emissions in pursuit of more efficient and renewable sources of energy. Such a transformation will require society to engage in a concerted effort, over the near and long-term, to seek out opportunities and design actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The objective of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change is to educate key policy makers and the public about the causes and potential consequences of climate change and to assist the domestic and international communities in developing practical and effective solutions to this important environmental challenge. The “Basics of Global Warming” section of our site provides introductory information on global warming, including fundamental facts and data on global warming, analysis of the science behind global warming, frequently asked questions about global warming, and a global warming glossary. For more detailed analysis of global warming issues, including the economics of global warming, environmental impacts of global warming, and global warming solutions, please visit the Global Warming In-Depth section of this site.

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere

Main article: Greenhouse effect
The
greenhouse effect was discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824 and was first investigated quantitatively by Svante Arrhenius in 1896. It is the process by which emission of infrared radiation by atmospheric gases warms a planet's surface. On Earth, the major natural greenhouse gases are water vapor, which causes about 36-70% of the greenhouse effect (not including clouds); carbon dioxide, which causes 9-26%; methane, which causes 4-9%, and ozone, which causes 3-7%.
The
atmospheric concentrations of CO2 and methane (CH4) have increased by 31% and 149% respectively above pre-industrial levels since 1750. This is considerably higher than at any time during the last 650,000 years, the period for which reliable data has been extracted from ice cores. From less direct geological evidence it is believed that CO2 values this high were last attained 20 million years ago. About three-quarters of the anthropogenic (man-made) emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere during the past 20 years are due to fossil fuel burning. The rest of the anthropogenic emissions are predominantly due to land-use change, especially deforestation.

Sudden changes of the climate

In the world has focused overcoat to the agricultural field, before the Chronogram of climatic activity defined the date to realize agricultural activities, who ever in tha last years this changes on the climate they have made uncertain this activities that it will must do, in the cities this effect has caused big devastations they start with water lack until big floods and accidents.
Many people say “This is the start”, Serious unimaginable that in our city has summer by indefinite times because we depend of the climate to our jobs.

We must think in all the change that human being has provoked in our planet, and the consequences we are living now.

By Geovanny

What do you Think about....

Around the story the human beings was converting our planet in the ideal place, but in this transformation we are destroying our planet, many species of animals have disappeared and there are by our foul, because we think that all is eternal and We don’t take care of the environment, for example the people are very worried by global warming, this process provokes many changes in our climate. I believe that the most important advisor was Tsunami because this natural phenomenon says us “Take care our planet is changed, if you don’t change the attitude, you will lost the planet”, Many people died in this Tsunami, that caused devastating inundation in the southeastern coastline of India and the eastern coastline of Sri Lanka are known in geological parlance as tsunami. This enormous wave killed many people and caused a very important commotion. What do you think about this?, what are we doing? What kind of future we want to our babies?.

All the things that we do have reactions and our planet needs our help, Take care our planet for a better future.

Global Warning: Wine industry faces challenge from global warming

A hot year is normally associated with a vintage year for wine growers but global warming could, by the end of the century, have adverse effects and already poses a major challenge to vineyards in southern France and California.
“The first studies on the consequences of global warming show that warming favors the quality of the wine, said Gregory Jones, an Associate Professor of Geography at the American University of Southern Oregon.
He said the threat might come from a series of challenges, citing problems with irrigation, diseases, and soil erosion resulting from flooding.
The regions most threatened by global warming are those with the hottest climates, such as southern Europe and California. If nothing is done about global warming, only the coastal regions of California, cooled by the ocean breeze, will be good for cultivating vines by 2100, Jones believes.
This can be confusing since, under this definition, some of California's dry red wines with 15 percent alcohol would be dessert wines, while the sweet wines of Germany, which can be as low as 7 percent, would not. Most other countries prefer to determine dessert
The global warning attacked since long time before, but we can change only if you want to help ours home because between some years We won't drink anything wine and the Word will fight in many battles for water and may be we lost The Amazon's lung of the word if you loock the real and seriuoly problem now. water was drying in Andes Ranges because you and me carry to pollution it. if you want the best for your futures kids you must to save the water now.

global warming

Warming to Cause Catastrophic Rise in Sea Level? Stefan Lovgrenfor National
Geographic News Updated April 26, 2004 Most scientists agree that global warming presents the greatest threat to the environment. There is little doubt that the Earth is heating up. In the last century the average temperature has climbed about 0.6 degrees Celsius (about 1 degree Fahrenheit) around the world. Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak, to the loss of coral reefs as oceans become warmer, the effects of global warming are often clear. However, the biggest danger, many experts warn, is that global warming will cause sea levels to rise dramatically. Thermal expansion has already raised the oceans 4 to 8 inches (10 to 20 centimeters). But that's nothing compared to what would happen if, for example, Greenland's massive ice sheet were to melt. "The consequences would be catastrophic," said Jonathan Overpeck, director of the Institute for the Study of Planet Earth at the University of Arizona in Tucson. "Even with a small sea level rise, we're going to destroy whole nations and their cultures that have existed for thousands of years." Overpeck and his colleagues have used computer models to create a series of maps that show how susceptible coastal cities and island countries are to the sea rising at different levels. The maps show that a 1-meter (3-foot) rise would swamp cities all along the U.S. eastern seaboard. A 6-meter (20-foot) sea level rise would submerge a large part of Florida.
Personal Comment
Everybody have to take concience around the situation that the Earth is living. We are losting animal species, we do not water, the temperature has rised, we are victims of natural catastrophes. This situation has to change and we are the people that can to make it.
GLOBAL WARMING

Increase of the temperature of the Earth due by the use of fossil fuels and other industrial processes that take to an accumulation of gases hothouse, specially dioxide of carbon in the atmosphere. In fact, the United States emits more dioxide of carbon than the China, the India and the Japan.

Higher temperatures threaten dangerous consequences: drought, disease, floods, lost ecosystems. And from sweltering heat to rising seas, global warming's effects have already begun. There are many changes for example : Global mean sea level has been rising at an average rate of 1 to 2 mm/year over the past 100 years, which is significantly larger than the rate averaged over the last several thousand years. Projected increase from 1990-2100 is anywhere from 0.09-0.88 meters, depending on which greenhouse gas scenario is used and many physical uncertainties in contributions to sea-level rise from a variety of frozen and unfrozen water sources.

But solutions are in sight. We know where most heat-trapping gases come from: power plants and vehicles. And we know how to curb their emissions: modern technologies and stronger laws.

by Alexandra Calle

Global Warming:

Paris, 2 Feb 2007 -- The world's climate scientists today reported unequivocally that the Earth's climate system is increasingly heating up and that it likely has not been this warm for at least 1300 years. The fourth report of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says that evidence for this includes more than increases in global average air and ocean temperatures.

As has been reported on this site, heating effects are strong in melting of snow and ice, rising global mean sea level, widespread changes in precipitation amounts, ocean salinity, wind patterns and aspects of extreme weather including droughts, heavy precipitation, heat waves and the intensity of tropical cyclones.

THE PENGUINS

THE PENGUINS IN THE ANTARTIC PENINSULA

Adélie penguins toddle along the ice. Inhabitants of from global warming, depending on their location on the continent.Global warming appears to be negatively affecting penguins living on the Antarctic Peninsula, because melting ice is decreasing the availability of food, causing the birds to swim longer distances to find sustenance. In more southerly regions, ice is melting faster, giving the penguins earlier access to food in the spring, which in turn increases their reproduction rate.

I think that the global warming is a big problem in actuallity, in specially has a serius effects in the animals that live in the glacial. The Adélie penguins are in dangerous of extinction, because they don´t have food necesary for live and reproduction.

The penguins will desappear in less ten years, because they need helth food for grow and reproduction, and they need a space habitable for live better, the changes of the climate is afecting directly to the penguins that need the ice for can life, how the peole can not live in the. glacial, we donot thinks in the penguins The people most that rescue to the penguins. They carry to nature reserve for avoid your extinction.

Any effects of global warming is that the glacials are melting faster, because the people are contaminationing the planet, whitout think in the consequences for animals, plants, and the human.
