BELGIUM A SMALL COUNTRY

In the summer of 2005 some friends and I had the opportunity to made a travel like bargin tourist. We went to Europe for more or less two months. I think that is one of the most important things that I could did in my live. But if I had the opportunity to back there, I want to stay more time in Belgium, I stayed in love with BRUSSELS and BRUGES.
But first I want to tell you some of important things that you have to know for visit this small country... Belgium.

Belgium is a country in the northwest of Europe bordered by the Netherlands, Germany, France and Luxembourg.
For me is very interesting that in this small country the lenguage is divided, they speak two languages: more or less 50% of the population speak Dutch this language is refer to Flemish and they also speak Englis, and the other 50% speak French. It is because the people how speak dutch and english is more near to Netherlands and Germany and in the South of the Country is more near to France.

Nowadays, in Belgium has a constitutional popular Monarchy and Parliamentary democracy.

T O U R I S M

Tourism in Belgium is one smaller industries; it is because a lot of people think that this country is very small and they can only stay there just for pass not like a tourist destination.
But a lot of people didn't know about some important and interesting things like: the "belgium beer" Belgium produces over 500 varieties of beer (white, green, red or black), although there are hundreds of beer cafés in Belgium, among the most famous are "Beer Circus," "L'atelier," "Moeder Lambic," and "Delirium Café" in Brussels "De Garre" and "t Brugs Beertje" in Bruges, etc.

The Belgium chocolate is very famous in Europe like Neuhaus, Callebaut and Godiva and finally are very beatifull their handycrafts.
How can you see there are a lot or important things to do or to visit if you are in Belgium but when I was there I feel interesting... in special two cities:

B r u s s e l s
All of us Know that Brussels is the capital of Belgium. This city has a lot of Mediaeval, Gothic and certainly Moderm architecture like the Grand Place, is an old market square surrounded by buildings from 16th - 18th centuries and The Royal Palace its pubs, gallerias with expensive boutiques. Brussels is well-known for their fine art and architecture.

B r u g e s
Is a small city that is surrounded by channels, for me is one of the most beatifull cities in the World. I'm an architect and I can told you that this city is one of best conservated in Europe, and it is because all their habitants and the municipality compromises with the world and with the historic city of Bruges to protect it, considered nowadays one of the most beautiful in Europe for this reasons Bruges is a city on the list of World Heritage.

Finally I can told you that if one day you are in Europe don't forget to visit BELGIUM.
