The Netherlands

The Netherlands is a constitutional monarchy of northwestern Europe which also consists the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. It is bordered by the North Sea to the north and west, Germany to east and Belgium to the south. The European portion of the Netherlands has a total area of 41,526 km2 of which 33,939 km2 is land surface. The country’s capital and largest city is Amsterdam.
The Netherlands is most of the time named Holland but this terminology is wrong because it only refers to two of the country's twelve provinces: North and South Holland in the western Netherlands.

Currently here in Ecuador, Netherlands is one of the most popular countries, because in their soccer league, that is called Eredivisie, plays Edison Mendez who is actually the best Ecuadorian player in Europe. PSV (Philips Sport Vereniging) is the team where he plays. It is one of the three major football clubs there.

Some famous soccer players have been part of the team, like Romario, Ronaldo, Philip Cocu, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Ronald Koeman who is in this moment team’s manager. PSV has been once UEFA Cup and European Cup(Champions League) champion.

Netherlands is known around the world because it has liberal policies toward prostitution, drugs, same-sex marriages, abortion and euthanasia. It also known for the use of aeolian energy, cheese and tulips.
